Global Native Services seeks to identify additional qualified candidates for consideration to develop language proficiency tests. GNS offers a competitive per-acceptable-piece work rate to independent contractors as well as flexible work environment and the chance to work with people who truly understand and promote excellence in foreign language testing.
The target foreign languages currently under consideration include:
- Croatian
- Hindi
- Iraqi
- Levantine
- Serbian
- Turkish
- Urdu
- Azerbaijani
- Chavacano
- Indonesian
- Punjabi Western
- Saudi
- Swahili
- Yemeni
Successful candidates must:
- Be a native speaker of the target language
- Be highly proficient in the target language – ILR/FSI level 4 or above (We may choose to offer testing to exceptional candidates)
- Have college-level education
- Have exceptional English language ability (ILR/FSI Level 3 or above – as above, we may choose to offer testing)
- Have professional experience in a language-related field, to include linguistics, literature and culture, translation/interpretation, language instruction, teaching, editing, proficiency and/or performance evaluation/assessment, and/or language proficiency test item development
- Capable of using MS Office and internet browser
- Capable of using simple database or web-based input system
- Capable of recording and performing simple length editing of audio files
- Have familiarity with the ILR/FSI scale
- Be an independent self-starter and self-manager with good project participation track record
- Currently hold valid U.S. work authorization
Preferred candidates will have any of:
- College completion and/or advanced degree or graduate coursework in a language-related field
- Extensive familiarity with the ILR/FSI scale
- Prior work experience as a Target Language Expert
- Prior experience developing passages and test questions for DLPT5
